Hello Fellow Laborers in the Lord,

God has been so good to us. We just want to thank Him and praise Him for His goodness, His grace and His mercy. We hope and pray that He has blessed you and your ministries as well.

We have traveled thousands of miles for meetings and God has granted us traveling mercies every mile of the way. As we travel and see wrecks and break downs everywhere we cannot help but say “Thank you Lord for your blessings on us!” Safety is of the Lord!

We are moving ahead with our plans to return. There was a mix up with our tickets and we were forced to move our departure date to September 18th instead of the 16th. Praise the Lord that He worked it out to secure these tickets and trust He had a reason for not allowing the tickets to go through as planned for the 16th. Please be praying about our return. We still need a good deal of money in order to start over, but we are trusting God to supply that as well.

We are so excited about going back with a new home church behind us and serving with a new mission team. The last few years have been some of the most difficult years of our life. In a lot of ways, I feel like we have failed. There have been many things that we went through that we were unable to discuss in prayer letters, but praise God we are forgetting those things which are behind and pressing on toward the prize. Brethren, we believe, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the very best is yet to come and God will use us to still make a difference in Bacolod City.

We thank the Lord for each of you dear supporters who have remained faithful to your missionary. Everyone who has called us with their questions has understood and is remaining a part of this team to reach the Philippines for Christ. If there are any others who may still have questions I would love to talk to you before we leave. Please call me at 803-741-9041 or 803-960-5594.
May God richly bless you all, as you continue to serve Him faithfully.

Love & Prayers,

The Murray Family

Ministry News – Sowing the Seed to Reap the Harvest

Fellowship Tract League – Negros Island Distribution Center

We would like to announce that we have been blessed with the opportunity to work in the Philippines along side with the Fellowship Tract League. I met with Dr. Wash Pennington and Bro. Tom Patterson of the FTL at the Sword of the Lord Conference in Walkertown, NC. There, we discussed the details and have agreed to work together to get more of the Gospel into the Philippines. We will be opening a Negros Distribution Center for the Fellowship Tract League. I look forward to joining forces with this great ministry to reach the Philippines.

Dr. Pennington writes, - “We rejoice with you that God has opened the door for us to provide three to five million Gospel tracts for the Negros Island in the Philippines. We thank God for your willingness to undertake the task of distributing these Ilonggo and English tracts freely as needed. I pray many souls will be saved through the ministry the Lord has entrusted to your care.”

BEAMS Philippine Representative & Bible Distributor

We have also agreed to be the Philippines Distributor of the BEAMS (Bible Education and Missionary Services) ministry. We have been good friends with Dr. Rene Freret for many years and have been receiving Bibles from them since we started our missionary work in the Philippines. Dr. Freret has been receiving requests from the Philippines for Bibles by the multitudes. Having a local distributor in the islands would make their ministry and ours more effective.

Dr. Freret writes, -
“The BEAMS Bible Ministry is honored to have Bro. Chris Murray as a representative of our ministry in the Philippines. We have been supplying Bro. Murray and his ministry in the Philippines with Bibles for several years. We know that through his work there will be many people in the Philippines with Bibles who would not have one otherwise. We look forward to working with Bro. Murray and his family to reach the Filipino people for Christ.”

We would like to thank Dr. Sammy Allen and all the good folks at the Faith Baptist Camp for raising over $3,000 to provide us with five cases of good study Bibles for the future Bible College ministry in the Philippines. Bro. Allen and the Concord Missionary Baptist Church have been faithful supporters of our ministry for seven years and we appreciate their generous help.

Please pray for these new opportunities to serve our Lord and the Filipino people.

Testimonies from the Mission Field

Gemma Deanon

Gemma writes, “I got saved on April 25, 1998. I got saved after the preaching of the word of God by Bro. Chris Murray and Ms. Garcia lead me to the Lord. She showed me in the Word of God about salvation and then I prayed to accept Jesus as my personal Savior.

There has been a great change in my life. Before, my life was very bad. I was always saying bad things. I fight with my mother and I lie to my mother and my friends. I did not always dress right. But now I dress as a Christian lady should. Now I did not say bad things because I realize that's wrong too. I really thank the Lord for every thing He has shown to me.

My burden for the ministry is to teach the children’s Sunday school class and to share the Word of God to other people and be a soul winner. My life verse is Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

Love and prayers,
Gemma

We thank the Lord for moving upon the hearts of young people like Gemma. She has a true servant’s heart. She has always been a blessing and encouragement to be around. Her smile will brighten anyone’s day. She is currently enrolled in the Rock of Ages Bible Institute and preparing for the ministry. She is also working in the Rock of Ages Prison Ministry Philippines Office as a secretary and has recently transferred to Manila. Gemma comes from a very rough background. God saved her out of an alcoholic’s home and I am ever so thankful that God is still making a difference in the life of Gemma Deanon and is using her for His glory! Please pray for Gemma, that God will use her to make a difference in someone else’s life.

Ministry Prayer Requests -

Please continue to pray about our Return Expenses. We still need over $15,000 to cover the costs of our return and starting over. We still believe God will supply this need and take care of these expenses. We are going to return by the grace of God and go right to work. Will you please pray about helping us with this.

You may ask why so much? This amount should cover the following needs:

1. Cost of our return tickets
2. Cost of renting a house & furnishings
3. Cost of renting a church building & ministry set up
4. Cost of a vehicle to be used for both family & ministry
5. Cost of shipping 25 boxes of ministry and personal supplies

Pray for a smooth return and that God will work all the details out.
Pray for the Lord to help us find a place right away to start another church ministry for His glory.
Pray for souls to be saved by His grace and lives to be everlastingly changed.

ATTENTION! – It will take two months to get our big printer to Bacolod. Therefore, October and November newsletters may be standard prayer letters only. Look forward to our next full length newsletter as we report of His blessings upon the New Beginnings Baptist Church, Masskara Evangelistic Outreach, as well as the IBOM - Visayan Pastor’s Conference – Oct. 20-22.
