New
Beginnings Baptist Bible College
Meet our
Students
|
 |
Girly Batog, age 17, 1st year student, was born September
29, 1988. I grew up in a Christian family but my parents are
not really faithful in the church. On October 2, 2005 my
cousin invited me to go to the New Beginnings Baptist
Church. There, Dailyn Monteverde, one of the Bible College
students led me to the Lord. Pastor Chris Murray then
baptized me on Nov. 13, 2005 as I obeyed the Lord in water
baptism. I feel that the Lord is leading me to become a
missionary wife someday. Please pray for me as I seek His
will and direction for my life. Thank you and God bless. |

Jessie Cabalhin, 26, 3rd year student, was saved on our
first Friend Day celebration at New Beginnings Baptist
Church on July 25, 2004. Bro. Rhody led me to the Lord.
Afterward , I obeyed the Lord in water baptism as Pastor
Chris Murray baptized me on December 12, 2004 and then I
felt that God wanted me to go Bible school in New Beginnings
Baptist Bible College. I feel that the Lord has called me to
be a Preacher. In the Youth Congress in Cebu God called me
to be a local Missionary in Cadiz City about 1-2 hours from
Bacolod. I’m praying that one of these days I can graduate
and that God will use me greatly in church planting
ministries for His honor and glory. May God Bless you all. |

Ronald Canete, 19, is a 3rd year student, born September 15,
1986. Ronald grew up in a devout catholic home. We met
Ronald the first night of our church planting ministry in
the Philippines in 1998. He was among a group of kids
fighting in front of our house. We were able to subdue them
into a Bible Study where I was able to present the Gospel.
He was faithful in attending our church and on September 11,
2002 finally received Christ as his personal Saviour.
Continuing his service for the Lord, God called Ronald into
full time Christian service on November 29, 2003. Ron feels
that God wants him to be a missionary someday, possibly to
Africa. Please pray for God’s continuous direction in his
life. |

Rex Dela Cruz, 23, is a 2nd year student, born September 27,
1982. I was a very bad boy before. One day one of the Bible
students went there at our place. I was drunk and she
invited me to go to church. I went to church and on August
15, 2005 I got saved as Bro. Ronald led me to the Lord. July
17, 2005 I obeyed the Lord in water baptism as Bro. Willy,
one of the Bible student, baptized me in Tay-tay Bago,
Murcia about 30-45 mins. from the church. I pray that I can
graduate in Bible College and become a Pastor of a local
church. I want to reach my family and friends, as I’m
inviting them to go to church and plant a little seed of the
Word of God in their hearts. God bless you. |

Willy Edoloverio, 23, 3rd year student, born June 29, 1982.
I grew up in a catholic home and when I was young I was
serving in a catholic church near in our community. But
still, I’m a bad boy; smoking cigarette, drinking beer,
stealing, drugs, and ect. As I served in a catholic church I
have no peace about my religion and my life. One day, Bro.
Rhody, some of our friends and I had just finished smoking
marijuana when a man invited us to come in and join their
Bible study. We could not understand Pastor Chris at that
time but he’s a good man to us. One time, as I asked the
truth from the Bible and he showed me the truth and I got
saved on March 28, 1998. Then Pastor baptized me on Sept.
17, 1998. Now I’m studying in the Bible College to be used
of God as a Missionary to Papua New Guinea someday. God
bless you |

Kenneth Ejar, 17, 1st year student, born on Nov. 17, 1988.
My mother is a Christian but my father is a devout catholic.
My mother took us to church every Sunday. I realized that
there is something lacking and I can’t understand even
though I am praying every night. I can’t feel the Holy
Spirit of God working in me. One day, CJ and Willy visit our
house and invited my sister to go to church. When I observed
them, it pleased my heart and I went with them. As I
continued, I recognized the dangers that if I die, I would
go to hell. On that night I received Jesus Christ as my Lord
and Personal Saviour on January. 11, 2004 and was baptized
the following December 12, 2004. I really thank God for the
Murray family as they serve in the Philippines as
Missionaries. |

Roldan Eran, 20, is a 2nd year student. I grew up in a non-
christian home, my family went to the Iglesia ni Cristo
church. But I found the truth in the Word of God as it was
preached in New Beginnings Baptist Church. Bro. Jessie
Cabalhin led me to the Lord on October 1, 2005 and I obeyed
the Lord in water baptism as Pastor Chris Murray baptized me
on November 13, 2005. Then I enrolled in the Bible school,
as I wanted to be a preacher since I was a kid and I want to
fulfill it by the grace and help of God. I am praying to be
a local Missionary in Villa, Ilo-ilo City, 1 hour travel in
the boat from Bacolod City, if the Lord will allow me with
my future family. Thank you and God bless you all. |

Arnel Gaitano, 28, 3rd year student, was born on June 24,
1978. I am studying right now in New Beginnings Baptist
Bible College. I came from a lower class family in our
society. I got saved on February 2, 2003 as Mrs. Aida
Luberas led me to the Lord and was baptized on April 18,
2003 by Pastor Luberas, the Pastor of Cubay Baptist Church
and now the assistant Pastor of this church. Thank God for
saving my soul and for His Word that gives me truth.
I am praying for my calling as I feel God wants me to be a
missionary in Haiti. God bless you all. |

Bryan Garcia, 17, is a 2nd year student, born January 13,
1989. I got saved on June 1, 2004 as Bro. Ronald led me to
the Lord. July 17, 2005 I obeyed the Lord in water baptism
as Bro. Willy, one of the Bible students, baptized me in
Tay-tay Bago, Murcia about 30-45 minutes from the church. I
was a prodigal son, if I can relate it in the Bible. But
when I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal savior,
God change my life. And now, God gave me a burden for the
deaf people. I am currently working in the deaf ministry
here interpreting for them as the preacher preaches. God
bless His people when they have a faith in Him. My life
verse is Ephesians 6:10, be strong in the Lord. |

Richard Gargoles, 19, is a 2nd year student, born on
December 5, 1987. I grew up in a Godly home since I was a
kid. I have been faithfully attending a Charismatic Church
together with my whole family but though I grew up with a
knowledge about God, still I was lost until I found out the
truth in the Word of God I was just living in a self –
righteous way of life but on September 19, 2002 I accepted
Christ as my own personal Lord and Savior. And now, I am
serving the Lord with full assurance and I’m looking forward
for the day that I could be an Assistant Pastor of which God
has called me. Currently I am serving as a Junior Assistant
Pastoral Staff, Youth Director, Sunday School teacher,
Discipleship Ministry, and Music ministries. Please pray for
me as I seek to serve Him. Thank you and God bless. |

Rhody Mabaquiao, 22, 3rd year student, born April 9, 1984. I
grew up in a devout catholic family, not knowing where I
will be when God call for me. I made my profession as I
thought I was saved but I was not sure at that time. During
our revival meeting, August 22, 2002, I received Jesus
Christ as my Lord and personal Savior, and then I obeyed the
Lord in water baptism on September 27, 2002 as Pastor Chris
Murray baptized me, along with the others who had gotten
saved. I surrendered to be a preacher on November 29, 2003
and started Bible College here at NBBBC. God’s grace is
sufficient, not only for me but for all of us! God is good,
all the time; all the time, God is always good. May God’s
grace be with you all always. Thank God for saving my soul
and to the Missionaries that was sent here in the
Philippines. Psalm 139:1. |

Lord as the church pianist. She is also active in soul
winning, home Bible studies, singing, and discipleship
ministries. The Lord called her into fulltime service
shortly after she was saved. She feels the Lord wants her to
be a full time worker in the church.

Dailyn Grace Monteverde, age 19, is a 3rd year student, born
June 15, 1987. I was raised in a Christian home; I made my
profession of faith when I was 10 years old. I thought I was
saved but until May 12, 2005 during the preaching of Pastor
Winfred Baker, I truly realized how much a sinner I was that
even though I was in a Christian home it was not enough. I
need to have a personal relationship with the Lord. I am now
serving God here in NBBC and at the same time studying in
Bible College here as well; working in the Deaf Ministry,
teaching Children Sunday School and in Discipleship
Ministry. I praised God for where I am now and what I am
doing. “The Lord hath been mindful of us...” Psalm 115:12 |

|
Joel Octiva, 21, is a 1st year student, born March 26, 1985.
I was saved when Pastor Dan Delgado shared with me about
salvation. His church was located in Cansilayan, Murcia
Negros Occidental. Pastor Abraham Candiasan baptized me then
as I obeyed the Lord in water baptism. Now, I’m studying
here in New Beginnings Baptist Bible College to fulfill the
calling of God in my life to be a Pastor someday. I thank
God for saving my soul.
God bless you all. |

Maricel Panaligan, 16, 1st year student, was born February
13, 1990. On October 24, 2004 NBBBC student Dailyn
Monteverde led Maricel to Christ. She followed the Lord in
believer’s baptism and feels that God has called her to
become a missionary wife some day. Please pray for her as
for now she is on sick leave from the school being treated
for advanced stages of tuburculosis. |

Mary Grace Vega, 26, 2nd year student, was born on December
18, 1979. I grew up in non-christian home. It was on
December 13, 1998 that I made a profession but I was not
sure about my salvation. One day I was in Pastor Chris home
and we watched a movie called “Left Behind”. Then after that
movie I was convicted that I really need to get saved as I
have a fear that maybe I’ll be left behind. I went to my
room and cried to the Lord as I repented and accepted the
Lord as my personal savior. Ever since I don’t have that
fear anymore – 100% I know for sure that if I die I’ll be in
heaven. I’m praying that one of these days I can graduate
and be submissive to whatever God wants me to be whatever,
whenever or wherever, for His honor and glory Thank you and
God bless you all. |

Rhoda Villacora, 23, 3rd year student was born October 28,
1982. She grew up in the home of a backslidden family. She
was born again on August 18, 2002 during revival services at
our church. Since that time Rhoda has been a faithful
servant of the Lord. She is active in every ministry
possible within our church. She is an aggressive
soul-winner, sings in the choir, teaches Sunday school and
junior church, a discipler in our discipleship program.
Rhoda is a tremendous asset to the ministry of New
Beginnings Baptist Church. She feels that the Lord wants her
in foreign missions somewhere. Please pray for here as she
seeks His perfect will for her life. |

Rogelio Villanueva, 17, 1st year student, was born on August
22, 1989. I lived in Purok San Roque, Tangub, Bacolod City.
I was saved on Feb. 16, 2006 and one of the Bible students
from NBBBC led me to the Lord, it was Bro. Jessie Cabalhin.
It was on the camp that God called me to be a preacher and
to share the Word of God to others that haven’t yet accepted
Jesus Christ as their savior. I am attending Bible College
to study about God and the Word of God. I am still waiting
on the Lord and praying to be submissive to His will for
whatever He wants for my life someday. May God bless you
all. |
