The unsung heroes of our local churches are the ladies. Recently, the New Beginnings Baptist Church invited all the ladies of area churches to come and spend the day with us.
Mrs. Amy brought the devotional from the Word of God based upon our theme, “Choosing the Good Part”. Most ladies in local churches work themselves to death taking care of things and making the church and pastor look good. Mrs. Amy challenged the ladies to take time for the “good part” of worshipping God.
New Beginnings Baptist Bible College students, Rhoda Villacora and Mary Grace Vega played the parts of Mary and Martha while Richard Gargoles played the role of Jesus. Jesus instructed Martha to settle down and choose the good part – WORSHIP!
Then one of the highlights of the ladies day was to be able to sit down and have the young men of our church serve them their lunch.
Luis Gonzales and Ronald Canete serve spaghetti.
Rhody Mabaquiao serves the Filipino favorite – RICE!
When it came to game time, I found out why mothers are so good with children: they are just little kids in grown up bodies!
The Lord blessed us with nine participating churches represented by the pastor’s wives. We honored each pastor’s wife with a gift basket full of blessings.
The “Best Part” was having two precious ladies give their hearts and lives to Jesus to be saved. Amazing how people can sit on church pews for such periods of time, working themselves to death in the service of the King whom they do not even know. Yet, surprisingly it happens far too often. Working is good but we cannot worship Him until we know Him. We praise the Lord for all the work that was put into the Jubilee and the great turn out of attendance but praise Him most for smiling upon us and saving souls in our midst. To God be the glory!
