Hello Everyone,

Greetings from our family and the New Beginnings Baptist Church. We just celebrated Thanksgiving, even in the Philippines! While “Thanksgiving” is primarily an American celebration, it should be an every day celebration in the lives of believers around the world. We had the most tremendous Thanksgiving Celebration Service.

I had just returned from Cagayan de Oro, Mindanao where I preached a “Workers Sunday” service for the Lapasan Baptist Church and Pastor Dimver Andalles. I returned so challenged myself that I preached on the Spirit to Serve. The Lord moved in such an unusual way and spoke to the hearts of our people that we were blessed with six people submitting to full time Christian service.

Standing left to right, in back – Rhody Mabaquiao (Preacher), Ronald Canete (Missionary), and Richard Gargoles (Preacher).

Standing left to right, in front – Joy Magallanes (Missionary wife), Rhoda Villacora (Missionary Wife) and Irene Monteverde (Pastor’s Wife).

I do trust that you will be praying for these dear young servants of our Lord. They have all been saved in this ministry and have grown up right before our eyes. They have actively and faithfully been serving our Lord already. The young men have been preaching as laymen and the ladies have been wonderful handmaidens of our Lord. However, the challenge was given to take the next step and they graciously responded to His call. We thank the Lord that He is still making a difference in people’s lives.

Please continue to pray for our building project. We are still in the process of raising funds. We need the $13,000 for phase one: clear the property, concrete, add the additional columns needed for support, and provide the needed equipment for the entire project. Phase Two will be putting up a 50 X 75 foot open air Tabernacle style building. Brethren, we cannot do this without your help. The Lord has sent us here to do this work, please help us build a church. This side of town has NO VACANT BUILDINGS to rent. We are still meeting in a living room. We are out of room. We cannot grow. We need this building in order to go forward. Please pray and give as God leads. Please send all donations to IBOM – Murray’s Building Project!

Love & prayers, The Murray Family

1st Annual I.B.O.M. Visayan Pastor's Conference & Revival

We were blessed to host the 1st Annual I.B.O.M. Visayan Pastor’s Conference & Revival Meeting on October 20-21, 2003. Our mission president, Dr. Wendell Runion, Philippine Field Missionary, Dr. Bud Lance and I.B.O.M. Board member and pastor of Faith Baptist Church of Shelby, NC, Dr. Barry Goodman were our guest speakers. We had a wonderful time of rejoicing as the Lord honored hard work and fervent prayer. We prayed and asked the Lord to give us at least one thousand in attendance each night with at least one hundred conversions each night. The Lord answered prayer. The first night we had nearly 1,400 in attendance with about 160 conversions. The second night we had around 1,100 in attendance with 111 conversions. Dr. Barry Goodman was the main speaker during the evening services and did a great job. The people loved him and responded well to his preaching and the Spirit’s leading.

We had nearly one hundred pastors and workers attend our special morning session which was designated especially for them. Dr. Bud Lance preached during this special session on “The Ministry of the Holy Spirit” and boy, did he do a great job! What a timely message he brought to this group of people. We needed it greatly and the Lord blessed mightily. Our people really took to him and his compassionate approach to delivering Bible Truth!

Bro. Sammy Madina, our Philippine National Missionary who is leading the IBOM Philippine North ministries also spoke during the morning session to the pastors and workers. He, too, did a great job and preached on “Making Full Proof of Thy Ministry”. His message coupled great with Dr. Lance’s message. It would only be possible to make full proof of thy ministry through the power of the Holy Spirit and His working within us and through us.

Dr. Wendell Runion had a physical problem and was unable to speak while he was with us. Please pray for him as he has diabetes. His foot was really giving him some trouble while here and he needs our prayers. We do appreciate him coming, his presence here was appreciated. We do know that it was a great sacrifice of time, energy, and money to come to the Philippines and we appreciate these men coming to be a help to our ministry.
